Ah? Logique... _mg_9809-small.jpg more

It's not only what you say, but who is listening as you say it

It already started, but it will last still a marathon-like 24 hours non-stop, in which you can listen to a live broadcast from Rostock, by neuroTransmitter (New York based Valerie Tevere and Angel Nevarez) and Tirdad Zolghadr, and Anton Vidokle. You can access the G8:24HRS here.

It's not only what you say but who is listening as you say it,

is this project’s motto, one inspiring in the way it puts emphasis back on the listener, gives power back to the subject, in this case, the one who constitutes an audience. After more

Watching from the roof

When the melees broke out, the first thing I felt was panic. Hundreds of people started running towards us, dividing randomly according to an internal sense of safety. Some ran towards the harbor and the row of port-a-johns, others towards the city and away from a demonstration that had obviously gotten completely out of control. My demonstration partner, Jefe, was experienced in this sort of thing. “Keep calm,” he said to the frightened masses running towards us. “Stop running, link arms. Nothing’s happening. Everything’s fine.” As far as I could tell, nothing was as it should be. Police officers, those more

Fences Won't Wipe Out Greenhouse Gases

“We’re now facing one of the greatest threats in human history. 'Climate change' is a lousy phrase to describe it. What’s happening now is a catastrophic destabilization of global climate.” - Phil Thornhill, Global Climate Campaign

zaune.jpg

Their message sounded all too familiar. The speakers at the Global Climate Forum in Rostock wanted to remind us and the G8 leaders that we must all act now to prevent global warming. Then again, climate campaigners don’t have any other choice but to sound a little repetitive: even though it’s now proven that more

It’s a Beautiful World

Art Goes Heiligendamm - “Beautiful World” movie Having arrived in Rostock today, early morning of a lazy Sunday, it is hard to believe that just yesterday these streets were the set for all that confrontation and violence. The streets are empty, most shops are closed, and no burned trash bin in sight. But the “polizei” van in every corner, and the occasional broken glass in the sidewalks, makes one doubts one’s doubts. In fact, a lot is happening behind this apparent stillness. A quick look at the week’s official more

Kinder @ G8

Das kostet doch alles Geld", more
