They Didn’t Throw Rocks

There were thousands today who didn’t burn cars. Some 80,000, they say. But let me name you three: Lisa, Yanis and Anka.
Lisa, Yanis and Anka. Three girls living in Copenhagen jumped on a bus today, one of the thirteen leaving Denmark this morning for the international demonstration against the G8 summit in Rostock. The trip was supposed to last less than four hours. The bus got searched at the border, they had to wait there for an extra three hours, for apparently no reason. But they finally made it in time.
Lisa’s from Sweden, Yanis is from Spain and Anka’s from Poland. Three girls living in Copenhagen made it all the way to Germany today. Thought it was important enough to be there, to be part of it. These three girls demonstrated, peacefully, with the party of festive Danes.
You won’t hear about these three girls on the news tonight.
